I just received my copy of ExpoImaging’s new Rogue Grid. The kit includes 2 stackable honeycomb grids that insert into an indexed bezel giving you a choice of 45°, 25° or 16° beam of light.

ExpoImaging announced this new addition on March 21st. I ordered it on March 23rd and received it, via FedEx, on the 25th. Pretty quick turnaround for a new item.

All components are extremely well made. Fit and finish are perfect. The plastic grids and bezels are made in the USA while the cloth snoot is manufactured in China. Unlike the Honl system, there is no additional mounting strap to purchase and once attached to your speedlight offers a very clean professional appearance. Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge David Honl fan. His photographic work is beautiful and his light shaping products were first to the market, but ExpoImaging has taken the idea to a new level of fit, finish and functionality.

The Rogue Grid and their other light shaping tools are available directly from ExpoImaging. A quick look reveals B&H has a limited quantity and it does not appear to be offered by Adorama at this time.

Would I buy another Rogue Grid? You bet. Just did. It should arrive Wednesday.
